Field of Play
- No goalkeeper. All 3 outfield players defend their own goal. No player may use their hands in open play.
- Kick-ins, not throw-ins. When the ball goes out of bounds, play restarts with a kick-in from the sideline. The ball must be stationary.
- 4-second rule. All restarts — kick-ins, free kicks, goal kicks — must be taken within 4 seconds or possession transfers to the opposition.
- No offside. Offside rules do not apply in futsal. Play freely across the entire pitch.
- Sliding tackles prohibited. All challenges must be made while standing. Sliding challenges result in an immediate free kick.
